Will There be Automated Plumbing Services in The Near Future?

Where the World Stands on Automated Plumbing

Technology is an ever-advancing field. People and businesses want everything to be completed faster, which means automation is a critical sector of technology advancement. Artificial intelligence and robotics have brought a great deal of efficiency to homes and businesses and have even replaced some jobs.

However, it’s unrealistic to say that AI will take over all jobs, especially tradesmen jobs like plumbing. Besides AI replacing the need for some positions, many industries as a whole have become more technologically sophisticated including the plumbing industry.

“Smart” plumbing products are being produced and sold throughout the world! These products and plumbing tools will continue to grow in popularity across not only the plumbing industry but all industries.

Preventing Slab Leaks with Foundation Updates

When water leaks from the copper water lines that run below the concrete foundation of the home, it’s known as a slab leak. These leaks can jeopardize the house’s foundation, so they should be taken very seriously. Because of the danger that slab leaks pose to homeowners' pockets and health, new homes are integrating smarter technology and engineering to prevent these leaks.

For example, insulated concrete form (ICF) foundations are less susceptible to water leaks and cracking because they use different engineering and a different creation process than poured concrete foundations. As new engineering and technology solutions are developed, major structural plumbing problems can be avoided.

“Smart” Bathroom Plumbing

smart bathroom Remember the children’s cartoons where inanimate objects talk to the people using them? Well, it turns out, those cartoons aren’t too far off! While the speaking aspect may not be present, smart showers and toilets do have a mind of their own to some extent.

Smart showers allow people to control all aspects of the shower experience including the water temperature, pressure, and duration of the shower. Smart toilets can be programmed to have additional cleaning options.

These smart plumbing products will slowly become more popular as other similar smart products are designed and developed.

Tradesmen Jobs Remain

Many tradesmen jobs require hand-eye coordination, which makes it hard for AI or robotic products to take over those positions. Besides, someone will need to manage the new technology. As more machines and smart technology products are built and used by the mass public, there will be a greater need for humans to manage those machines, including plumbers!

For every drain clog, pipe leak, or broken water heater, there will likely be some unusual challenge associated with it. No two plumbing problems are exactly the same!
